Canmex officially bailed on the Boleo Cu-Co Project in Baja on 24Aug99 and is presently seeking new projects in the natural resource sector.  Not much news on Mining in Mexico activities since late 1999.

Mexican exploration work through Minera Autlan S.A. de C.V. (100%). Announced a 5 to 1 rollback of their outstanding shares on 17Sep99 with no change in name. At the annual shareholder's meeting June 9, 1999 company inquired about changing name to E-Can Mining.com Ltd. or something similar along with the rollback of shares. Sounds like another company abandoning the natural resource sector heading out into cyberspace. They officially bailed on the Boleo Cu-Co Project in Baja on 24Aug99 and revied projects in the internet/technology sector in late 1999 thru early 2000. Now back to natural resources.. 

El Boleo Cu-Co District, Baja California Sur. Drilling in 1Q99 failed to intersect mineralization and assays were not warranted. A total of 867.8m was drilled. Project was put on hold due to low metal prices, but on 24Aug99 they officially bailed and relinquished the property.

Owned over 385 sq km adjacent to holdings of International Curator which completed advanced feasibility stage. Properties included Lucifer and San Lucas. Geophysics (TEM) Phase I consisted of 38 line km with line density of 2-3 km and was completed on Feb. 21. Drilling was scheduled for 6 holes at 400m each (2,400m total) to begin in late May or early June on these targets, but cancelled due to low metal prices. . Phase II of 40 additional line km is presently underway. Entered into a cooperative agreement with Copperstone Resources to jointly explore certain assets in Baja Sur. JVed the Punta Concepcion property to the south with Golden Temple Mining. Entered into a 50/50 JV agreement with Copperstone Resources on 9631 hectare San Bruno Area some 25km SE of International Curators's property. Also similar arrangement on El Carrizo JV area to NW of historic Boleo District now held by International Curator.

El Limon Au-Ag District, Sinaloa. Owns 20,000 ha. with reported 7 M tonnes OP at 0.085 opt Au, 0.7 opt Ag. Good trenching results. Michael Sawlan is manager of this project. Four geologists carried out district-scale mapping of some 90 sq km in the Ollitas Mining District on the concession's eastern side in July and stream sediment sampling on the western side was slated for August. Air photos for detailed topographic map construction were flown in July-August. Trenching and geophysics is anticipated.

Azulita I concession, southern Sinaloa. Located 50 km NE of Mazatlan. Optioned 3,965 ha. to Cambior according to terms of a 19Sep96 JV agreement. Agreement was accepted by VSE in mid April, 1997 and Cambior promptly terminated same. (El Viejo Gambusino thinks that the same property was apparently evaluated by "Sinaloa Gold" around 11/98. They have long since have fled into cyberspace)

PRIOR HISTORY OF TRIPS TO THE ALTER: Planned Canmex, Copperstone, Island-Arc merger cancelled in September, 1996. Lukas Lundin appointed president of company in late Sepember, 1996. Planned Canmex, Laminco Resources Inc. and ICAN Minerals Ltd. merger cancelled as of 16-September, 1997. Management layers have been reduced over 96-97 winter season and Mexican exploration operations were streamlined and concentrated in the Mazatlan office (now closed).
