Golden Hemlock was very active at San Jose de Gracia in Sinaloa in the 1997-1998 time frame, but has slowed down considerably. Apparently GHE also took their website down so information is harder to come by.

Located in eastern Sinaloa near the Durango border, San Jose de Gracia is an historic Au-Ag + polymetallic (minor cpy, gn, sph) vein mining camp which began production back in 1828. Over 66 veins are identified in the area.  Since then over 67 separate mines were developed on the 3500 ha land package. Collective historic production exceeds 1 million ounces. A new 250 td floatation mill is operational and working at 100 tpd. Production in the first year of operation is expected to be 25,000 oz Au. Access via 78 km gravel road from town of Sinaloa de Lleyva or small aircraft.

Initial Phase I drilling focused on Tres Amigos, La Union and Gossan Cap Zones. Around 7000 ft of drilling commenced in Feb. 1997 with Sierra Madre Drilling and $1.04 million budget. It has been completed with encouraging results. Fourteen holes were completed in Gossan Cap. Highlights include 10m of 3.62 gpt and 18m of 2.73 gpt. in the Tres Amigos Zone which has been traced for 1100m on the surface and penetrated at depths up to100m below the surface. It has only been drill tested over 350m of its entire length. Tres Amigos drill results from 14 holes posted in early March and La Union in early April. Two additional zones: La Prieta and La Purisma have yet to be tested. In excess of 500,000 oz indicated in Tres Amigos Zone (GCN #69). Bad ground has forced Gossan Cap to be explored by trenching. Results encouraging with 3 trenches showing 50 to 110m of 2 to 3 grams Au. More drilling planned for Tres Amigos and La Union Zones. Completed final payment obligations to acquire of 100% 550.62 ha portion of 42 sq km land package. on 15May97. Next target to be tested is the El Salto-La Purisima Ridge area. lying south of the Rudolfo Zone. From tabulated results it appears that around at least 47 holes have been drilled in 1997. Geologists now believe the Rudolfo and Tres Amigos areas may connect as one mineralizing system with dimensions of 450m by 1200m. Hole 97-63 in this intermediate zone appears to confirm this hypothesis. Results include a 27.8m  intercept of of 2.23 gpt Au and a 15.5m intercept of 3.07 gpt further down in hole.
