Laramide is active in China, Canada (Ontario & B.C.) and has an ongoing interest in a low-grade bulk tonnage gold deposit in northern Sonora Mexico. For now through it's acquisition of 100% of Alliance Pacific Resources, Laramide's primary focus appears to be the Far East.

Laramide Resources Ltd.   LAM   (TSX)

Hold a 46.5% interest in Rio Sonora Resources Ltd., a Mexican Exploration company

Holds approximately a 10% interest in Aquiline Resources:  Laramide Resources made a $5.3 million dollar hostile take-over attempt of Aquiline Resources. which was successfully thwarted. The major target was Aquiline's Jojoba Property in Sonora. Larimide Resources initially purchased 28% of Aquiline by buying 1,590,908 shares directly from Glamis Gold. Throughout it's takeover attempt it continued to acquire Aquiline shares and as of 10Jan97 beneficially held 1,713,608 shares. Laramide withdrew its offer to Aquiline shareholders on Jan. 14, 1997. This withdrawal followed a Jan. 10 decision in the supreme court of BC which denied Laramide's attempt to block Aquiline from proceeding with it's transaction with Hecla.

Cerro Colorado Project near Trincheras, Sonora. Laramide holds a strategic land position surrounding and including part of the Cerro Colorado project in Mexico, which includes part of the resource. Cerro Colorado is a rhyolite dome hosted gold deposit with an indicated resource of approximately 6 million tons @ 1.5 g/t Au. (Peter J Clarke 1997 report). There is good exploration potential to increase this resource to in the order of 1 million ounces of Gold.

Laramide held an option over the Cerro Colorado deposit in 1996 and completed much
of the work on the property. The option lapsed during the downturn in the gold market from
1997 to 2001.

Currently Laramide is investigating ways to maximize its assets in the Cerro Colorado
project.

Back in 1996 Larimide optioned 4 claims covering 250 ha. 100% from Fresnillo S.A. and one underlying land owner who previously outlined mineral resource of 6 M tonnes at 1.5 g/t Au. Another previous estimated of the resource was 4.283 MM tonnes grading 0.040 opt Au. Negotiated loan and convertible debenture for $610,611 to make final purchase payment to Penoles.

Located 50 km NW of Magdalena de Kino near Trincheros. Laramide drilled around 6500m in 87 holes in Au-bearing rhyolite dome during Phase I and Phase II in 1996. Various target areas include Obra X and Breccia Harris and Breccia Central Zones.  Phase III drilling began in Feb, 1997 and continued through April. In included both DDH and RC in a mix of in-fill and expansion holes totaling around 10,000 m. Initial results reported in mid-May on Breccia Central. Selected average grades reported over drill intervals of tens of meters are in the 0.6 to 1.0-2.0 gram range. A high-grade intercept of 18.8 gpt Au over 15.2m was also reported. Highlights of Phase III included 165' of 0.053 opt and 210' of 0.026 opt. Barringer Labs in Reno is doing analytical work. Found a new blind zone they call La Sorpressa where the best hole intercepted 32m of 1.5 ppm Au. New zone open in 3 directions. Planned to begin permitting for a new OP/HL gold operation by the end of 1997.
