MK Gold Company established an exploration program in Mexico during 1Q98. Exploration activities in Mexico have focused on identification and acquisition of properties in central Mexico. Purchase options were taken out on six separate properties in 2Q98. Mapping and sampling initiated during 3Q98. Names and locations of these six properties has not been announced. Oscar Sansores and Luis F. Chavez represented MK Gold - Mexico at Randol '99 in Puerto Vallarta.

MK Gold Company was originally incorporated as a wholly owned subsidiary of Morrison Knudsen Corporation ("MK"). On December 14, 1993, MK Gold Company became a publicly traded company with MK retaining a 46.4% ownership interest. On June 6, 1995, MK sold its ownership in MK Gold Company to Leucadia National Corporation. Concurrent with the sale of MK's ownership interest, there was a change in the Board of Directors and in the management of MK Gold Company. During 1998, grassroots exploration programs have resulted in the acquisition of mineral properties in Nevada, Brazil and Mexico. Focus is on precious and base metal projects.

MK was involved in 1994-1995 with Orvana Minerals Corp. (ORV-TSE) in 50/50 JV on exploration of El Tigre Au prospect near Agua Prieta, Sonora.
