News Release 15Oct98

La Verde, Sinaloa. A privately-owned producing underground Ag-Cu skarn which has operated the last 8 years at 210 tpd for 330 days per year through Cia. Minera Humaya S.A. Located 30 km N of Cosala it employs about 90 persons on a 8,900 hectare property. An independent consultant reported proven+probable reserves at 37.38 million tonnes  (no grades reported) A trackless operation operating four levels through a decline. Signed a contract with URI drilling of Toronto to begin drilling 10Nov97 to develop mine reserves along strike and at depth. Company's goal is to justify an expansion to 500 tpd with average grades in the 250-300 gpt Ag and 1.5% to 2.5% Cu range. Newly discovered Navarro Zone sulfide-rich horizon which continues to the south looks promising and the Golden Panther geological team is now managing drifting in that direction. IP studies infer its dimensions as 125m in strike, 200m deep and 100m wide giving a resource estimate of 5,700,000 additional tonnes. In early February blasts through a fault that separates the San Juan and Navarro Zones encountered massive sulfide mineralization. The first 3 channel samples of 2.5m each ran 656 grams Ag, 2.1% Cu, 7 grams Ag and 0.03% Cu and 515 grams Ag, 2.5% Cu.

This zone has subsequently been confirmed and is averaging around 8 m in width and continues to widen as they drift to the southeast in Tunnel # D 6 on Level 3. The drifting is continuing to intercept high-grade mineralization and the massive sulfide zone is now a full 8.8 meters in width at 31.5 meters into the zone. "We have turned northeast (left) to crosscut the beds of mineralization, which will determine the true width at this reference point. The slash of the left wall of D6 and the first round of the crosscut (C1) are well mineralized, said Gordon Muir, President and CEO. "Visually the face of the crosscut and the wall of the slash are over 25% in sulfides, predominately consisting of high-grade polybasite. The second blast is also in high-grade mineralization," continued Muir.
