Sparton Resources Inc. is a publicly-traded diversified junior resource company actively engaged in the acquisition, exploration, and development of resource properties in China, Mexico, and Canada. The Company operates on a selective basis, with properties acquired and financed as high potential opportunities arise. On December 15, 2003, Sparton executed a joint venture contract with the Yunnan Nuclear Geological Exploration Brigade 201 to acquire an 80% interest in five mineral exploration licences covering most of the Luxi Gold Belt in Yunnan Province, China. Recently, the Company executed an option agreement with International Northair to evaluate a promising gold-silver prospect in northern Mexico. In Canada, its assets include several exploration projects and an interest in the Chebucto natural gas field in the Sable Island area of Nova Scotia.

Santoy Resources Ltd.  SRI   (TSXV)

Sierra Rosario Project, Sinaloa. Sparton has acquired an option to earn a 51% interest in the Sierra Rosario project from International Northair Mines Ltd. Sierra Rosario is an early stage exploration project that has returned very encouraging gold and silver assay results from several zones of mineralization located in a reconnaissance prospecting program completed by Northair staff in 2003. The area has no previous history of systematic exploration by modern, professional mining organizations or individuals. The project claims are located in the Sierra Madre Occidental Mineral Belt of Sinaloa Province in northern Mexico, approximately 25 kilometers northwest of the town of Choix; and 40 kilometers east of the town of Alamos (Sonora province). Both areas have a strong precious metals mining history.

The area is somewhat remote and presently accessible by unimproved tracks and trails. Road access is possible with minor repairs to an existing route. Northair geologists were initially introduced to the area by local prospectors and artisanal miners known as ‘gambusinos', who have historically produced placer gold from a number of drainages down slope from, and within the claims. A 1.5 kilometer long portion of a main drainage within the property boundary contains dozens of historic placer gold workings, and most of the smaller drainage areas (arroyos) within the southern portion of the property are also reported to contain placer gold. Gambusinos have also produced gold from residual soils and colluvium in this southern area, suggesting that underlying mineralized bedrock may be the source for the production. The 500 ha. claim group was acquired by staking in April, 2002 and is Northair's sixth project acquired in Mexico resulting from a comprehensive generative regional exploration program over the past several years.

Sierra Rosario lies along the western flanks of the Sierra Madre Occidental geological province, which hosts numerous precious and base metal occurrences. The property is underlain by Cretaceous shale and limestone intruded by upper Cretaceous granodiorite belonging to the Sinaloa batholith, with some areas covered by younger overlying intermediate volcanic rocks. These sediments and volcanics are also intruded by numerous granodiorite dikes, and dacite porphyry and rhyolite porphyry bodies that host much of the observed mineralization.. The age of the volcanics and younger intrusives is interpreted as being lower Tertiary. Although the granodiorite dikes are intensely altered, mineralization appears to be more related to the dacite and rhyolite porphyries. The property is intersected by numerous regional deep seated fault systems of variable orientation, some of which may be important conduits for localizing mineralizing fluids.
