Compañía Minera Autlan, located in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, is Mexico's largest producer of manganese - in almost any way you want it: Silico manganese, Mn carbonates, Mn nodules, High- and Medium Carbon Ferromanganese, Battery Grade, Ceramic grade and Mn dioxide. Working with Australian-based Broken Hill Propriety and German-based SKW Metals. Began production of low-Fe Mn ore at new Terrenates mine in Chihuahua in 1995. Seriously re-vamped production at the Durango steel plant in Gomez Palicio and achieved ISO 9002 quality certification for ferroalloy plants at Gomez Palacio and Teziutlán. Purchased Talamantes mining properties in Chihuahua in 1996. In 1996 net profits of 167.9 million pesos were achieved on sales of 1.016 billion pesos.

The exploration office is located in Pachuca, Hidalgo in order to consolidate Autlan's Mn and precious metal efforts. The projects Autlan feels has the greatest near-term potential include:

Atexcaco, Puebla. Potential for polymetallic massive sulfides
Lucifer, BCS. Cu and Co potential (optioned to Copperstone)
El Rodeo, Durango. Gold potential (See GFM Resources, Ltd.)
Las Guijas, Guanajuato. Gold Potential
Several properties with Au-Ag in the high plains of Central Mexico, primarily in SLP and Zacatecas.
