Acquired all outstanding shares of Sierra Madre Gold de Mexico S.A. de C.V. via acquisition of Cayman Island parent company Sierra Madre Gold Ltd. (Not to be confused with Canadian company Minera Sierra Madre, Inc. [MSA]) Alan Hitchborne is chief geologist and also President of company.

Monterde Prospect, Chihuahua. A 20,000 Ha gold-silver exploration property centered around a qtz-sericite-pyrophyllite altered plug which includes the Carmen, Corn Basin and Los Hilos areas. Rock chip sampling conducted during the summer months. Plans were to drill area in October-November '98 time frame. Surface area under control. Permits applied for and received early December. Drilled during December, but evidently it was "the drill program from hell" and ultimately consisted of only 8 holes totaling 698m prior to slamming into the Christmas holiday break. Due to poor contractor performance and rig breakdowns 6 of these holes failed to reach target depths. Program was originally slated for 15 holes, but a meager 49m/day average saw to it that these original plans were merely a theoretical concept. Hole MTR-2 reports 8m of 14.63 gpt Au and 455.3 gpt Ag. The results from this first phase of drilling were encouraging enough that a Phase II is in the works. (The Old Prospector bets Alan is looking for a different drill contractor)
